Where to Stay in Drake Bay

Updated: Jul 27

OUR TOP PICK HOTEL IN DRAKE BAY Our top pick hotel is the last stop on the Boat Shuttle route (in the Corcovado sector), in a boat access only paradise right next to the Corcovado National Park, with direct views of Cano Island.

With its perfect boat access only location, top notch food, all inclusive rates, impressive guides, uniquely styled beach front accommodation, and backyard access to the wildlife we all came to the Osa to see, The Jaguars Jungle Lodge is the obvious top choice in the area. Their online reviews will back up our opinion. If you are after a personalized experience and a true adventure, look no further.

Rates here include all meals: lunch on arrival, snack/tea time at 3pm, dinner with dessert, and breakfast. Tours and packages are easily bookable on their website and highly recommended. Their guides and staff live at the hotel, creating a truly immersive environment.

Policy to note: they only accept children 6 years old and up. FYI

The lodge property boasts 3 private beaches (one has a waterfall on it), 130 acres of primary coastal rainforest, a large and diverse collection of exotic fruit trees, and epic tide pools. Tapirs, monkeys, anteaters, and a long list of other wildlife can be viewed right from your cabin. The lodge runs 100% on solar power but still has luxuries like fans and flawless hot water. What more could you want? Their precise location gets a fabulous offshore breeze, making it feel less hot here then in coastal towns including Drake Bay!

The Jaguar's Jungle Tours in Drake Bay

Prices at the Jaguar's Jungle Lodge are very reasonable, especially for how small of a business it is. The only down side is that they fill up FAST so if you didn't book yesterday you may already be too late. The shared dorm is a great option for solo travelers.

Who this lodge is not recommended for:

  • Budget travelers that really need to pinch pennies and cook their own food

  • Families with kids under 6

  • Folks with severe mobility issues

For those with mobility issues or kids under 6, you could opt for Aguila de Osa, Drake Bay Greenleaf or Drake Bay Getaway. If you have a low budget, you could try Poor mans paradise.
